I won't mention the name, but my son bought a very expensive pair of scooter wheels that broke after only 3 days. Determined not to let my son miss out on scootering with his friends, I took a chance and ordered these replacement wheels. To my delight, my son loved them, and when his new wheels arrived, one of his friends was quick to barter for these. They look great, are incredibly quiet (a feature I've noticed as a spectator that seems to be a mark of higher quality), and are holding up wonderfully at the skate park.
Good to Know for the NEO 110mm Scooter Wheel
The package contains 2 complete 110mm scooter wheels, with the bearings and spacers already installed, so no assembly is required. The brand is Kutrick, and the wheels have an aluminum core with a nice spoked design. The ABEC9 bearings ensure a fast, smooth, and "buttery" roll, while the 88a urethane provides great durability.
How to Choose Good Scooter Wheels
Every scooter wheel needs 2 bearings and 1 spacer to function properly. Wheels come in different materials, sizes, hardness levels, profiles, and core designs.
The cores can be solid (for maximum durability), spoked (lightweight but weaker), or hollow (lightweight yet strong, but not as durable as solid cores). Plastic cores do not last as long and tend to be a bit flexible.
The profiles can be flat (providing strength and maximum grip) or narrow (for increased speed).
Hardness is measured on the durometer scale from 0-100a, with 100a being the hardest. Most scooter wheels are around 85a. Hard wheels last longer but are more slippery, while soft wheels wear down faster but provide better grip, making them great for parks and indoor use.
